Product Description

Designed to allow more people to experience a taste of touch technology at an attractive price, the LG KP500 Cookie is packed full of advanced features usually found exclusively in premium full touchscreen handsets. Its easily accessible multimedia features--available through widgets as well as shortcut icons--provide a fun and easy mobile experience with a single touch of its 3.0-inch screen. It comes with a stylus that tucks away in the back of the phone and features easy-to-use handwriting recognition.

The affordably priced LG Cookie offers user-friendly touchscreen technology, 3.2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth stereo music, and MicroSD memory expansion.
You'll be able to capture still photos and video clips on the go thanks to the 3.2-megapixel camera, as well as enjoy advanced gaming thanks to the touchscreen and the Cookie's motion sensor technology. Other features include Bluetooth connectivity for handsfree devices and stereo music streaming, MicroSD memory expansion, digital audio player, stereo FM with RDS capabilities, access to personal email with a document viewer, and up to 3.5 hours of talk time.

Unlocked Phone
This unlocked cell phone can be used with a GSM network service provider and it provides quad-band connectivity (850/900/1800/1900 MHz). It does not come with a SIM card, and it requires that you provide a SIM card for usage with your selected service provider.

Phone Features
The Cookie's large 3.0-inch touchscreen (240 x 400 pixels, 256K colors) provides an optimized interface for all forms of multimedia content, and its auto rotating display automatically shifts from narrow to wide mode and vice versa according to the contents and your position. The large screen size and excellent color depth make it ideal for watching movies, taking pictures, browsing the Internet, and creating and editing drawings and documents. The Home screen menu from LG's Flash user interface (UI) provides quick access to your calendar, alarm clock and digital audio player. The optimized QWERTY keyboard, which automatically comes out when the screen is in wide display mode, enables fast and easy input for email and text-messaging.

With the Cookie's handwriting recognition, you can write and draw on messages or background pictures taken with the phone's camera, as well as send text messages without even using the virtual keyboard. It's also great for realistic gameplay thanks to the embedded motion sensor technology, which recognizes your hand movements and reflects them in the game itself

The Cookie includes a small 48 MB internal memory, which can be expanded via optional MicroSD memory cards up to 8 GB in size. The internal phonebook can store up to 1000 contact entries (each with 15 fields for storing multiple numbers, email addresses, IM handles, and more), as well as up to 500 text messages, 500 memos, and 500 to-do items. It also features support for caller groups and picture/ringer ID, display of the 40 most recent dialed/received/missed calls, and compatibility with both MP3 and polyphonic (64-chord) ringtones.

This phone provides the latest version of Bluetooth connectivity--version 2.1 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate)--which makes pairing with the included headset as well as other Bluetooth devices a snap. And with the embedded A2DP Bluetooth profile, you can stream your music to a pair of Bluetooth stereo headphones or other compatible devices.

The 3.2-megapixel camera offers six resolution options (320x240 / 400x240 / 640x480 / 1280x960 / 1600x1200 / 2048x1536) as well as a 2x digital zoom. Other features include night mode capabilities for low-light situations, white balance and brightness adjustments, continuous shot capabilities (3, 6, or 9), three quality options, color effects, a self-timer, and in-phone image editing. In addition to still photos, the Cookie can capture video clips in two resolution options (176x144 / 320x240, 12 fps).

The digital media player offers wide compatibility for audio (MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA, RA) and video (MPEG4/H.263), and it features equalizer pre-sets (Classic, jazz, Pop, Rock, Concert hall). It also includes a built-in FM radio with RDS, which displays the name of the currently playing song (when tuned to compatible radio stations).

Other features include:

  • Messaging: SMS, EMS, MMS, Email
  • Document viewer: MS Office, Doc, PDF
  • Embedded applications and games: Data Wallet, Pipe, Wheelmania, Flying Dices, Thomsons & Touch
  • Organizer tools: Calendar, memo, to-do, world clock, unit converter, calculator, alarm, stopwatch
  • USB 2.0 connectivity
  • Speakerphone, voice memo recording
  • Web browser (WAP 2.0/xHTML)
  • Flight mode

LG KP500 Cookie Unlocked Phone with 3.2 MP Camera (Black)

Me gusta!

Review Date: September 2, 2010
Reviewer: L. U. DONALDSON, MIA

* El reproductor de música es intuitivo y
* el tamaño del teléfono se siente cómodo en la mano
* la opción te teclado QWERTY y T9 tienen respuesta rápida al "teclear"
* La batería es duradera (claro depende del uso)
* Tiene stylus
* El bluetooth funciona bien con mis Motorola S805 BT headset

CONS:

Never recieved

Reviewer: DPeterson,
I ordered this phone and never recieved it...I previously ordered the same phone months prior and it works fine. Battery life could be longer though...
Nice for the time it was made but they are always getting better

Reviewer: Michael Hamblin,
Texting is super easy with this phone I have sprint in the U.S. and I was able to get MMS and internet services to work right away. Just did a bing search for my settings.. There is a lot of info out there on how to set it up. The phone is very thin and lightweight. I wear jeans a lot and it fits in the front pocket nicely. So, if you don't need 3G, GPS, or WiFi, this is a really great phone. If you do, then I'd look elsewhere. But, for me, it does everything I need, and does it well. I've had this phone for about a month now, and I'm very impressed with it. It gets great reception, even better than my old V3 RAZR, which I thought had excellent reception. Call quality is also very good. I love the touchscreen! I won't go back to a non-touchscreen phone after this. It's so much easier to navigate through the menus and get it to do what I want. Yes, texting is not perfect, but doable. But, all the positives of the touchscreen outweigh that negative. And, I text more than I want to admit. overall, I recommend the phone if the price is discounted some for the older technology.

A pretty good phone

Review Date: August 29, 2010
Reviewer: Mark Mills,
This is a pretty good phone. The phone sound quality is very good. The touch screen works well. Once in a while the touch screen takes a few seconds to become responsive. When turning from "phone style" touch screen to full key touch screen; once in a while I have to turn the phone on it's side (turning it is the normal procedure) and give it a little shake. The video and still camera both work well. The battery life is about average. The phone is typically on stand by or used for texting and the battery will last for 3 days. I have not used any of the internet features, so I can't comment on them.
I would buy this phone again...
GOOD PHONE BUT THE TALK TIME...

Review Date: August 29, 2010
Reviewer: milotte,
tHIS PHONE WAS GREAT AND EVERYTHING UNTIL I DISCOVERED THAT IT COULLD NOT KLAST A DAY. I ONLY USED THE PHONE TO CALL A FEW TIMES WITH THE DURATION OF 5-10 MINS. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE PHONE'S BATTERY IS EITHER ONE BAR LEFT OR FLASHING WHICH MEANS IT IS DYING!!! IT DOES NOT LAST LONG..ALSO THE SENSOR FOR THE TOUCH SETTINGS IS NOT QUITE FAST..SO I GUESS IF YOU ARE NOT IN A RUSH OR YOU DO NOT TALK A LOT ON THE PHONE THIS IS GOOD FOR YOU!!!!
Not worth the money

I bought this phone based on the reviews on amazon but was very disappointed with the product. This phone is not at all user friendly. The touch screen is a joke ..... does not respond well even with the included stylus. The menu is not at all user friendly. It takes a lot of reading and navigation to figure out simple features/functions. The phone keeps adding widgets on its own on the home screen and to get rid of it is a real pain. One has to read through manuals and search the web on how to clean up the home screen. The battery charge is not that great either. Don't waste your money on this product.
