The BlackBerry 8520 or otherwise known as the BlackBerry Curve 8520
is already on the third generation of the smart phone category that is a full QWERTY type. The most noticing feature of this model is its relatively new style that is modernly packaged. The BlackBerry 8520 is definitely lighter from the Curve 8900 with weight of only 106.5 grams or 3.8 ounce and has dimensions of 109mm x 60mm x 14mm respectively. The keyboard is now more user-friendly and the backlighting on the keyboard is relatively good although the blue designs inhibit relatively dimmer backlights at times. Manual track pad controllers on the directional buttons were replaced by its smart optical track pad controller. The track pad is a mouse-like sensory devise which is placed upside down. Its usage is unquestionable but requires more control compared to the trackball.
BlackBerry 8520 General:
With the new BlackBerry 8520, there is no more lock button, it has now been replaced track mouse control found in the unit’s sides. External connections can be achieved from many ports located alongside the BlackBerry 8520 like the 3.5 mm headphone jack exclusively for playing pleasure and a micro-USB for connecting on to a computer or for alternate charging and data connection. Full features and built can be seen to be very good except on the battery cover portion which may become a bit loose at times which may post to be an interruption during usage or when taking or making a call. One of the specialties of the BlackBerry 8520 is on the messaging feature that can multi-task itself in this type of mobile feature. It supports multiple e-mail sending and activities enabling configuration of multiple e-mail accounts. Is has also separate storage areas for SMS, MMS, e-mail, and voicemail respectively. The developers of the BlackBerry Curve 8520 has also generously provided various keyboard text shortcuts that would make messaging very much of an ease. The BlackBerry 8520 is compatible of use to some of the major network bands either through GSM or the EDGE network, although it is not capable of 3G connection.

The BlackBerry 8520 is also good at web surfing and online connections but the low resolution QVGA screen might turn you down. It has its collection of relevant and common applications like the calendar capable of synchronization with a computer, alarms, converter and other useful ones. The phone when sold has a 1GB micro SD memory but may be expanded up to 16GB or 32 GB according to your desire. It only has a built in memory on 120MB.
Maybe one of the boasting features of the BlackBerry 8520 is its track pad controller that is very much accurate down to the very detail and is versatile too. Whether going through the phone’s menu or surfing through a particular website, it is just an easy thing to do. And to conclude, the BlackBerry 8520 is really an excellent and at the same time good one in the category of the smart phone, truly a worthwhile pick.
